Types of Keyword

There are 9 types of keywords : -

1. Short Tail Keyword (STK)

These are the short keywords consisting of one or two words. In this type of keywords there is high volume, high competition and low conversion rate.
Examples : - 
  • Shoes
  • Restaurant
  • Digital Marketing
  • Mobile phone
  • Audi A8

2. Long Tail Keyword (LTK)

These are the longer keywords consisting of equal or more than three words. In this type of keywords there is low competition and higher conversion rate.
Examples : - 
  • Fast food restaurant
  • Gym shoes for women
  • Best digital marketing books to read
  • Best keyboard under 1000 rs
  • Top 10 expensive cars

3. Short Term Fresh Keyword (STFK)

These are the keywords that are related to trending or viral topics. This type of keywords are in high demand for a short period.
Examples : - 
  • New iphone 15 price
  • Jawan movie box office collection
  • How to prevent eye flu
  • New job release
  • Upcoming olympic games 2023

4. Long Term Evergreen Keyword (LTEK)

This type of keywords are constant and have consistent search demand. Here search volume is less but users can search it time to time. Here we have update the articles time to time to maintain our ranking.
Examples : -

  • Best gardening tips
  • 20 recipes for breakfast

5. Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI)

These keywords are related terms and phrases that are contextually relevant to a main keyword.

6. Geo Targeting Keyword (GTK)

These keywords include location-specific terms to target a particular geographic area like Country/State/City/Street/Near.

7. Product Defining Keyword (PDF)

These keywords describe a specific product or item. These are mostly used in e-commerce websites.

These keywords helps to identify and target a particular type of customer or audience.

9. Intent Targeting Keyword (ITK)

These keywords reflect the user's intent. ITK is categorized in 3 type - Informational intent, Commercial intent and Transactional intent.

  • Buy iphone 15 online (TI)

What all factors Google Keyword Planner tells

Google Keyword Planner tells different metrics like :

  • Average Monthly Searches: This metric tells the average number of times a keyword or phrase is searched on Google per month. Like 1-100, 100-1000, 1k-10k etc.
  • Competition: Here GKP tells the keyword competition into three categories: low, medium, and high. It helps to identify how competitive it is to rank for a particular keyword in Google Ads.
  • Low Bid: It is the lower range of the bid amount required to have your ad appear at the top of the search results when targeting a keyword.
  • High Bid: It is the higher range of the bid amount required to have your ad appear at the top of the search results when targeting a keyword.
  • YOY: Year-over-Year data can helps us to identify trends and changes in keyword search volume over time.
  • Ad Impression Share: It tells the percentage of ad impressions our campaign received compared to the total number of impressions it was eligible to receive.
  • Organic Impression Share: For Google Ads campaigns, this metric shows the percentage of organic (unpaid) search impressions our website received compared to the total number of eligible organic impressions for a specific keyword.
  • Click-Through Rate (CTR): It is the percentage of people who click on our ad after seeing it.
  • Keyword Ideas: GKP generates a list of keyword ideas related to our initial search keyword. It will help us to discover more keywords.
  • Keyword Trends: We can see historical data and trends for keywords, which can be useful for understanding seasonal variations in search volume.
  • Location and Language Targeting: We can specify the geographic location and language for which we want to research keywords.
  • Filtering Options: Users can apply filters to refine keyword results based on criteria such as search volume, competition and bid.
